end of summer
first: the last couple days in scotland, julie, chris, mark, mike, and mike from umich showed up, so there was some hanging with various subgroups there. also, we climbed arthur’s seat, which is a hill of volcanic rock in the middle of edinburgh. we pretty much climbed it from the wrong side, so it was a bit tougher than it might otherwise have been.
tip: don’t pay for internet at coin-op terminals in british airports — it’s bloody expensive and i was unable to access my eecs webmail.
also: it’s the end of my summer in socal. i’ll be starting the drive back (along with meg) in the next few days, planning to arrive back in michigan in time for the home opener, in which the wolverines should kick the living crap out of northern illinois. but it will hopefully be a nice warmup for notre dame the following week.
we have a chance to make it big this year. michigan is one of three (or even four!) big ten teams that have a decent chance at the national title this year — conference play is going to be pretty intense.
anyway, i’ll be back in ann arbor just in time for labor day.
